NISSAN GT-R

Coming in at under $100,000, the Nissan GT-R provides more bang for the buck than any sports car on the planet. Its hand-built 3.8-liter V6 pounds out 480 horsepower but takes so much delicate assembly that it’s only possible for Nissan to make 1,000 GT-Rs a month.

Not wanting to ‘copy’ the many supercars that come from Europe, Nissan’s chief creative officer said the GT-R is modeled after the giant Japanese robots from the cartoon series Gundam, making it a true representation of Japanese culture.

Designing the GT-R was a three-pronged attack, with the square lines on the front end coming from Japan, the swooping roofline from its European wing, and the sculpted rear end coming from their American design team.

But for your purposes in SHIFT, the car rockets from 0-60 in less than four seconds, so crash avoidance may be more important than design.
