BMW M3 E36
The E36 was the second generation of BMW’s M3 and was produced for eight years, with the first import to North America being in 1995. The E36 took on the rounded body style that was common among BMWs in the early 1990s but had some additional design features that made it stand out including lowered suspension, a body kit and larger wheels.
It was the first class of M3s to be powered by a 6-cylinder engine and ran 0-60 in less than six seconds. The E36 was also the first M3 to be available as a sedan and convertible.
During production of the E36 M3, there was a discrepancy between the power numbers in the European versions and North American, with the final versions of the E36 having identical 3.2-liter inline-six engines, but the EU version had 316 horses compared to the North American’s 240. You won’t have any trouble getting the M3 moving in SHIFT.
