Ferrari FXX
Based off the street-legal version of Ferrari’s Enzo supercar, the Ferrari FXX is one of the most expensive vehicles ever built, but also one of the world’s fastest.
Ferrari built 30 examples of the FXX, selling them for more than $2 million apiece. There is a major stipulation to buying an FXX: you’re only allowed to drive it on special track days permitted by Ferrari.
However, your FXX is maintained in Ferrari’s factory and any developments made in its evolution are relayed to the owner.
Once you take your FXX around the track, Ferrari is purportedly open to hearing a critique of the car’s performance, which is similar to the Maserati MC12, a car featured in Need for Speed SHIFT.
On the outside, FXX shares many styling cues with the car named for Ferrari’s founder, with its long, pointed front fascia, low-slung exterior and angular lines.
But let’s get to the good stuff: FXX is powered by a 6.2-liter V12 that unleashes a devastating punch to the asphalt with 800 horsepower screaming to life – dwarfing Enzo’s 651 - from its rear-mounted monster.
FXX has a top speed of 217 mph – or 349 km/h – and runs from 0-60 in an almost unbelievable 2.8 seconds, a faster time than the McLaren F1.
Adding to the exclusivity of owning an FXX are the tires, which are special 19” slicks developed only for this car.
Formula One legend Michael Schumacher – who owns the final FXX to roll off the line – set a lap record on the test track of British motoring show Top Gear, completing a lap in 1:10.07, beating the Gumpert Apollo S by seven seconds, but due to the special slick tires, the record was later removed from the leaderboard.
FXX is not available to own if you live outside Europe, but you don’t have to move to get one in SHIFT’s Ferrari Pack.
