Ferrari F430 Challenge
Used exclusively in the Ferrari Challenge races, the Ferrari F430 Challenge, which replaced the 360 Challenge, is one impressive piece of Italian engineering.
Its transmission is sourced from Ferrari’s Formula One racing program and has the same 150 millisecond shift times as the street-legal F430, with fifth and sixth gears being tweaked with the final drive ratio to provide a stronger tranny for racing.
Its 4.3-liter V8 is the same as the standard F430 as well, with dual-overhead cams and 483 horsepower from the mid-mounted monster.
Fortunately, it keeps the classic look which has made the F430 such a desirable collector’s item, not to mention rolling piece of art. Seeing one of these in motion at the Ferrari Challenge is a once-in-a-lifetime sight.
The stability system along with traction control are both permanently disabled in the Challenge, and the car has no carpets, radio or seats to cut down on weight.
Some other racing gear in the Challenge includes a full roll cage, racing harnesses, and a detachable racing steering wheel that when removed makes it easier for the driver to enter and exit the vehicle.
In short, if you wanted nothing but a full-on, balls-to-the-wall fast car with no strings attached, popping yourself into the cockpit of a Ferrari F430 Challenge in Need for Speed SHIFT’s Ferrari Pack is the best way to make that dream a reality.
